Every month 2.5 billion photos are uploaded & shared via Facebook, which makes it the largest photo-sharing website. They have recently launched a new tool (a plug-in actually) for improved photo-uploading.

Facebook will implement the new photo-uploading plug-in over the next few weeks. After the update, when someone would go to the photo uploading menu, they will be asked for a simple install through a dialogue box. Plug-in will take less than two minutes to install and no browser restarts would be required.

This installation reminder would keep popping every time a related action is performed (i.e. creating new photo album, uploading photos etc). Additional image formats are supported by this new uploader.

Successful installation will lead to a photo browser screen on home page of your Facebook account. Photo-uploading menu consists of two parts. Upper part of the menu would be used for the browsing & selecting folders containing photos. You could choose photos to upload from the lower half of the menu. Choose the photos you want to upload and click “Use Selected Photos”.

Asynchronous uploading makes this plug-in very user friendly, which allows users to upload pictures without having the need to stay on the same page until the upload is complete. This feature allows you to browse other pages and keeps on uploading in the background. Once the upload is complete, a notification will take you back to the upload page, where you could add captions and tags to your photos.

  1. Why I don’t have like this plugin in my Facebook? I am looking this for months but no pop up appeared. :(
