Mobilink: Blood Donation Drive

A blood donation camps were organized by Mobilink at two of its offices in Islamabad. In collaboration with Fatimid Foundation and Sundas Foundation this blood drive was conducted in order to collect blood for children of deserving families suffering from chronic and dangerous diseases like Thalassaemia, and many other blood illnesses.

Thalassaemia

It is a genetic blood disorder, transmitted to the off-springs from their parents. More than 5,000 children are suffering and born with this disease and the reason being a high carrier rate of this disease in our society. Children with this disease require regular blood transfusion through out their lies in order to survive. Many children surrender to early end because of not being able to obtain in-time blood transfusion.

It is estimated that more than 450 Thalassaemia patients will benefit from the blood donated by Mobilink employees during the blood drive organized under the support of Mobilink Foundation, in collaboration with Fatimid Foundation and Sundas Foundation in Islamabad.

The volunteerism by Mobilink employees shows a core value of its culture of excellence where employees are encouraged to be active in humanitarian causes. The Torchbearers are sanctioned to clock an average of 4 to 5 dedicated hours per person per month during official working hours. On an average in 2009, the volunteers spent more than 4,800 hours community service initiatives.

Mobilink welcomes Fatimid Foundation and Sundas Foundation for playing a very optimistic and encouraging role in saving innocent lives and facilitating free of cost transfusion and treatment to needy children.
