Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has apparently increased on-net call rates and introduced a new offer with which customers will be able to call to any PTCL landline or Vfone number across the country for Rs. 1 per minute. All calls from PTCL to PTCL or PTCL to Vfone will be charged Rs. 1/min effective from 1st March 2010. PTCL is also offering free Conference Calling service from March 1, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2010.

Rs. 2 per 3 minutes were charged in past on local and nationwide number across Pakistan. According to PTCL advertisement and website, these price are affordable and simple but I do not agree. They are not simple at all. Now customer will be paying Rs. 3 per 3 minutes instead of earlier Rs. 2/ 3 minutes.
Other details:
- Off-net local calls will still be charged Rs. 2/3 minutes.
- Off-net nationwide calls will be charged Rs. 2/min.

Well I’d say this is a good offer because customers will be paying per minute.
Earlier Customers had to pay Rs. 2 even if they called one minute or even less. Now they will pay Rs. 1 per minute. This would be saving them money if you think from that perspective.
I hope this makes sense.
Local calls should be Rs. 2 per 1 hour or more as they are charging Rs. 250 as line rent, if line rent is $50 then it will be okay to charge Rs 1 per min.
It is totally unfair and we believe PTA and PTCL two sides of same picture.
