How To: Share WiFi Internet Connection with LAN Connected Computers

As long as features and functions are concerned, Windows 7 is known to be on top of all the previous versions of operating systems. In this particular article, we have made an attempt to show you that how can you share wireless internet connection to LAN connected computers.

Mostly, the files and options are preinstalled on operating system and what is required from you is to configure them and that is all. Let us show you how to share a wireless connection to LAN connected computers.

  • First, right click on the ‘Connectivity’ icon found on your system tray and click on ‘Network and Sharing Center’.

  • Now go to ‘Change Adapter Settings’. Choose Ethernet Adapter and then right click on it and in the list choose the ‘Properties’.

  • After clicking the ‘Properties’, next you have to hit the ‘Sharing’ tab. This will help you share your Internet Connection with other available users on the network. Here, you cannot only allow the other network user to share your current internet connection but also allow or restrict them to control or disable the shared internet connection. What you are required to do is to check both the settings as ‘Yes’.

  • Once you are done with ‘Settings’, an IP is assigned to you called the Static IP that you cannot be able to alter. Using this assigned Static IP address, you will be able to access your LAN adapter. By doing this, you might have lost the connectivity with other computers on the same network.

Local Network Enabled

  • Once you hit the ‘Yes’ button in the ‘Settings’, all the previously added IP addresses will be removed from the box. From now on, if any user wants to access your Internet connection, he/she will be assigned a sub IP address having a dissimilar D Class modified in TCP/IP4 configuration box.
