Microsoft Offers President Obama a Free Windows Phone 7

Couple of days ago, we gave you news regarding US President Barack Obama and his disappointment over not having a ‘Cool Phone’. His remarks were said in jest as he playfully expressed his displeasure over not getting familiar to the latest and greatest technology.

“The Oval Office, I always thought I was going to have really cool phones and stuff,” Obama said during a Q&A session with contributors to his re-election campaign, according to CBS. “We can’t get our phones to work. Come on, guys. I’m the president of the United States! Where’s the fancy buttons and stuff and the big screen comes up? It doesn’t happen.”

Microsoft in a response to President Obama’s statement has offered him a free Windows Phone 7. Certainly, it is a great opportunity that Microsoft took and offered him a Windows Phone. The following message was sent by the Microsoft Twitter account (EMEA stands for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa):

Hey @BarackObama, we hear you want a cool phone – how about a Windows Phone 7? We can send one your way! http://fxn.ws/eflCNx #WP7

No reaction has yet been seen from the Barack Obama Twitter account. What we actually believe that the remarks made by Obama don’t suggest as if he was complaining about his mobile phone which is currently a Blackberry, but rather the phone on his desk in the Oval Office as well as the other outdated devices in the office.

Now, if Obama doesn’t even respond to Microsoft’s offer, this move of Microsoft is really a very smart one from marketing perspectives. Our speculations say that Obama will not accept the offer as from security viewpoint Blackberry is the most trusted device so far. While on the other hand, if Obama cordially accepts the Microsoft’s offer, then US government would have to carry out a process to make certain that Windows Phone equally stands against the Blackberry’s security features.

After the George Hots commonly known as GeoHot (a hacker), Obama is the second renowned personality whom the software giant has offered its Windows Phone 7.
