Asus Eee Pad Transformer Review

Apple iPad is known to be the pioneer of tablet computer market in true sense. When it was launched last year, it changed the whole scenario of the computer market and many were taken aback by such a remarkable invention. In its first year, over 15 million unit of iPad were sold which is far higher than any other tablet computer sold until 2010. Currently, the second generation iPad 2 is prevailing in the computer market.

Within a span of year or two, tablet computer market has seen a number of different devices launched to compete with Apple’s iPad. Android-based devices are among them which are yet to cover a lot of hurdles to stand alongside iOS based devices. It is worth mentioning here that Android was not meant to design for tablets – a major reason of slow taking-off of Android-based tablets. However, Google has worked hard since then to design a tablet version of Android. The Honeycomb is a tablet version of Android first released in Motorola Xoom. As for specifications, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer features a 10-inch PS LED backlit screen, 1GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of internal storage, a MicroSD slot, standard 3.5 mm audio jack and Mini-HDMI port. It also features two cameras, one on its front for video chatting and another on the back for capturing photos. On its front, it features 1.2-megapixel camera, while the rear is 5-megapixel. This Asus netbook also features an Nvidia’s dual-core Tegra 2 1GHz processor.

If we talk about the connectivity specs, it offers Wireless LAN 802.11b/g/n connectivity, while a Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR support is also available. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer also features a 24.4Wh Li-polymer battery supposed to offer an operating time of 9.5 hours. There is also available Eee Pad’s TF 101 docking station with keyboard and built-in battery pack that can extend the battery time by 6.5 hours, claims Asus.

Other major quality of this Asus EEE Pad Transformer is the presence of several different sensors including a G-Sensor, Light Sensor, Gyroscope, GPS and E-Compass.
