YouTube Testing New Mobile Layout

Facebook was facelifted last week and it seems that everyone seems willing to facelift their websites. Facebook has undergone extensive changes in recent month or so and continuing the trend we have heard that YouTube is also aiming to renovate its site’s look.

New Youtube Layout

The official YouTube webpage has already been overhauled and you might have noticed it by now. YouTube is now aiming to bring some overhauling to their mobile app as well. Compared to previous design, the new proposed design is far different from the previous version. The new design is still under testing process, yet can give it a try now.

This has been reported by Federico Viticci of MacStories who when opened the YouTube website on his iPhone, discovered this new layout. However, this layout is under opt-in setting, so you need to confirm before moving onto this new layout.

What you need to do is: run mobile Safari and log onto m.youtube.com/new_visual_design. Let the page load. You will receive a message from the YouTube saying:

“Welcome to a new experience for watching videos on mobile. Thanks for giving it a try. You can always go back to the old version at any time through the Settings page. Bookmark this page so you can easily return here or just navigate to m.youtube.com/new_visual_design.”

Those who appreciate the redesigned layout of official YouTube website must not keep them from loving this new mobile app as well. It features the same dark black color scheme with all the major attributes in front and center for your ease. In new layout you will also experience an improved page and video load times.

The redesigned user interface will offer all standard options. There is an option to share videos easily through Facebook, Twitter, and Google Buzz. As YouTube is owned by the search giant Google, then how it is possible that it won’t show support Google+.

It is worth noting here that the new mobile layout is still in experimental stage. The company is still testing its different features and busy improving its credibility and functionality.
