Nokia Introduces Unique Services and New Mobile Applications

Nokia introduced its two latest Windows Phone smartphones, The Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710 on Wednesday at Nokia World event. Both devices are launched with some significant hardware specs. However, Nokia also brings some classy unique services and amazing new applications as well that differentiate its devices from HTCs.

In order to make its Windows Phone smartphones distinctive from other available Windows Phone in the market, Nokia launched its two Lumia devices with three unique services including Nokia Drive, Nokia Music with MixRadio and GigFinder, and Sports Hub.

Nokia Drive, the company’s voice guided, turn-by-turn navigation system having support for ninety five countries. Users can access it directly from the start screen of Lumia. The service offers smooth searching experience and real-time GPS together with speed and distance information.

Nokia Music with MixRadio will offer users a better music experience on the go and that too without any sign-up. With this service, you can also create and share your own mixes. The service will give a host of mixed with full-length music.

GigFinder is in fact a feature of Nokia Music which allows you to look for live local music. You can even purchase concert tickets. This feature will be available in forthcoming Nokia Music software update.

Nokia also announced another service under Sports Hub name which is designed in partnership with ESPN. This service will keep users update about sports news, scores and other information about any league, team and player.

In addition to the aforementioned three services, Nokia also introduced a range of new fascinating mobile apps including Public Transport, Nokia Pulse and Live View at the Nokia World event held in London on Wednesday.

You will be able to follow public transportation in over 430 cities all across the world with Public Transport app. Furthermore, the app will provide timely updates on bus and train routes in 45 cities.

With Nokia Pulse, you will be able to send location-tagged photos and updates to a close group of friends and family. You can also access these updates and photos from the web. This app is a smart merger of photo and location sharing and Twitter-like status updates. However, its focus is mainly towards private use.

The Live View is an app that was first demoed back in July. It is basically an augmented reality app that displays names and information on streets and places whenever you point them with your mobile phone camera. You can even see detailed information of nearby restaurants and businesses in a simplest of way.
