YouTube Goes Political With New Channel

YouTube is one of the largest online video sharing communities. The U.S. is all ready for its approaching 2012 Presidential election and to cover the entire Presidential race YouTube has launched a new political channel. The channel is set to feature political campaign ads, speeches, parodies and other several clips related to politics.

According to YouTube, the new channel will serve as a full-function social video tracker particularly for the 2012 election. Once you are on the home page of YouTube Politics (ww.youtube.com/politics), you will find a note on the profile area read as:

“As the 2012 election heats up on YouTube, keep your finger on the political pulse, at youtube.com/politics.

Keep up with the latest political parodies, see which candidates are surging and more via this new channel.”

If you scroll down the page, you will be able to see graphs and charts showing comparison between major candidates, such as YouTube individual views or subscribers. The channel will also offers a brief profile details of each candidate like views, video shares and the number of times they were searched on YouTube.

In addition to the launch of new political channel, YouTube has gradually been increasing its coverage of U.S. politics containing a YouTube town hall with President Obama, a virtual town hall where the public can vote on major issues and co-hosting a GOP Presidential Debate (through Google).

YouTube launched its new channel just on the right time as well as in right direction. The channel is no doubt provides a platform to politics junkies where they can find updates, user views and analytical studies via charts and graphs of each candidate.
