However, the over-the-air update may not readily available for all the users. They can either wait or opt for iTunes update method. What we suggest to the users to wait for some time and perform the update through over-the-air method as this will be faster than iTunes method. The file is not huge as iPad 2’s update is just 34.9MB on-the-air.

According to Apple, the updated version fixes the following bugs:

  • Fixes bugs affecting battery life
  • Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
  • Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
  • Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation

The updated version also includes an explicit security fix that was discovered by Security Researcher Charlie Miller. Furthermore, the Apple team has also fixed the iPad Smart Cover security bug that will enable you to access the last accessed running app.

If you are interested in updating your iDevice, connect your device into iTunes and hit the update option. If you are using iOS 5, then go to Settings -> General -> Software Update. This will update your device to new updated version.
