Google+ Brings Game Section on Homepage

A new update from Google+ has added a new shortcut Game Section to your homepage to make gaming experience smoother and easier for its users. Vermont Lasmarias, the Google+ Games Software Engineer said in a statement that the search giant has added a new and simple shortcut section to the Google+ homepage. The section will display the most recently played games so as to get back to the game after re-logging to your account.

The Google+ Games Software Engineer, Vermont Lasmarias described this new update as an option that “allows you to pick up where you left off, in just one click.”

Undoubtedly, it is a smart move from Google+ that will make user to move freely through different pages on Google+ much more swiftly. You might find the theme of the new addition much more identical to the world’s largest social network. Despite the fact that both the tech giants have unique and distinct approach, it won’t be surprising that both titans getting inspiration from one another in different areas.

The recent update from Google+ has brought to light so many questions. What are the major factors that forced Google+ to introduce Games section on the homepage? Perhaps, the step is taken to limelight the games to drive traffic to its young platform. May be the idea is to get new developers involved in its platform. However, this can only be a mere attempt to simplify the Google+ experience for its users like many other sections evolving over time and again.

The good thing about this new section is that you can remove it if you are not much into the Google+ Games. In order to remove the section just mouse over the Games Header as this will give you a ‘X’ option. Simply clicking on this cross sign will remove the newly added section from your homepage.
