Apple Releases Minor Update for iTunes

Apple has introduced a minor update for its iTunes music player/store that addresses some welcome bugs, particularly for iTunes Match.

The update is not actually a comprehensive one rather it is a minor update to address few bugs pointed by users related to iTunes Match and playback of audio files imported from CDs.

iTunes 10.5.2

Here is given an extract from an official changelog:

What’s new in iTunes 10.5.2

iTunes 10.5.2 includes several improvements for iTunes Match and fixes an audio distortion problem when playing or importing certain CDs.

iTunes 10.5.1 also included:

  • iTunes Match. Store your entire music library in iCloud, including music you’ve imported from CDs, and enjoy your collection anywhere, anytime, on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, computer, or Apple TV.
  • iTunes in the Cloud. iTunes now stores your music and TV purchases in iCloud and makes them available on your devices anywhere, anytime, at no additional cost.
  • Automatic Downloads. Purchase music from any device or computer and automatically download a copy to your Mac and iOS devices.
  • Download Previous Purchases. Download your past music, TV, app, and book purchases again, at no additional cost. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they are no longer on the iTunes Store.
  • Sync with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5.
  • Wi-Fi Syncing. Automatically sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes any time they’re both on the same Wi-Fi network.

The iOS 5 was released in October, and since then, Apple has released a great many updates for iTunes. Apple has also launched iCloud and iTunes Match recently and all these available options seem to work perfect for the tech giant. iTunes Match recently became available to the iTunes version 10.5.1 that grants paying users the access to the 224kbps ACC version of songs from any platform. Through this service, users not only save a lot of space, but also listen to decent quality songs from anywhere at any time.

The updated iTunes version 10.5.2 is available for Windows and Mac users for download at Apple’s official website. You can also opt for a conventional update method by going to ‘Software Update’ app and clicking the ‘Update’ button.
