The announcement is made on the Mozilla’s official blog, where the company also gives the description of the Firefox for Android and also discusses the new available features and improvements.

The most prominent change made in the recent release is a completely new user interface (UI) for tablets – tabs are now appearing on the left in the form of thumbnails, while user can browse Internet on the right. Users can now swipe left to hide the column of tabs, if you want to experience the full screen of your web pages. In portrait mode, the column will automatically hide itself. In addition to this, there is also a new Action Bar menu located on the right of the Awesome Bar from where one can access common actions and other related settings.

Mozilla also claims that the Firefox 9 for Android also has a faster startup time. Furthermore, developers for mobile apps can also make use of Camera input support so they can get access to the device’s camera for use on websites.
