Microsoft to Open Retail Store in Austin

The Redmond-based software giant is busy expanding its presence. It has been reported that the company is planning to set up a retail store in Austin, Texas. Considering the vitality of the tech scene in the region, the selection of location by Microsoft isn’t shocking. However, we are not yet sure whether it will be able to get enough popularity like Apple’s local outlet.

Microsoft Retail Store

Currently, there are 15 retail stores for the company working in different states of United States. The company has a plan to open as many as 75 retail stores in the country in the coming years. The idea is to extend its operations to reach maximum number of customers. With a good number of retail stores, the company will be able to flourish its brand, which has become somewhat dull compared to its rival companies.

Prior to announce the store, the company held a poll on its official Facebook page, where each of the option for voting was for Austin. Considering the whole scenario, the Ford was opted out by Ballmer. The software giant already has a store in Houston, so opening a store in Austin will help company to double its presence in that state.

It is not yet known when actually the store will become operational in Austin. There is a doubt in minds whether the company wants to open its store before SXSW this year. It seems that company doesn’t have any plans to open its store before the event because the event is just around the corner and we don’t have any announcement from the Microsoft. We can just wait to see when and where the announcement will be made.
