Google Gives First Cash Prize of $1337 for Chrome Bug Report

Google announced in January 2010 that it would offer cash bounties for bugs found in the code of Chromium (which is the open-source browser behind Chrome) by following the lead of Mozilla. Mozilla was offering $500 as a cash reward but Google took a step forward and for bugs which are “particularly severe or particularly clever” offered $1,337 (yes, 1337). Facebook Beats Yahoo: Now the 2nd Most Visited Site in US

Web analytics firm compete.com disclosed that Facebook is bigger than Yahoo (in terms of traffic) in United States. Started in 90s yahoo was the world’s number 1 portal of the world for years.  Two years back Google crossed Yahoo to become the world’s most visited website. Google Gives Donation of $2 Million to WikiMedia Foundation

Google, The Search Engine giant has donated $2 Million to Wikimedia Foundation, organization that operates Wikipedia.
Wikipedia Founder (Jimmy Wales) and one of Wikimedia Foundation Advisory board members, Mitch Kapor announced the donation through tweets. Either side is yet to make any official comments. Announcement should probably be made public tomorrow.

This donation shows the munificence of Google to open web-promoting organizations.
