Lenovo Announces Skylight ARM-Based Processor Smartbook

Lenovo’s first ARM-based processor smartbook device incorporating the best of the smartphones and the netbooks together with the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset for creating a completely novel mobile consumer gadget, is the new Skylight Smartbook.

The Skylight Smartbook with its unique slim and sleek design and structure features a 10-inch display that boasts of high definition videos and picture quality. Powered by Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon chipset, the smartbook also features a 20GB standard flash memory and 2GB of cloud storage. As far as connectivity is concerned, there is an in-built Wi-Fi and 3G network access, and with the possession of a good enhanced AT&T DataConnect plan, users do get 3G data but also need to access the AT&T’s nationwide Wi-Fi network which includes more than 20,000 U.S. hot spots for fast access.

This latest smartbook from Lenovo also has a remarkable unique custom interface feature called a Web Optimized Interface which has 18 and more preinstalled web gadgets including the Roxio CinemaNow to buy and download digital movies and the Amazon MP3 for downloading digital music favorites. Introduced in two radiant colors of earth red and glossy lotus blue, the Skylight will be available on the market from April, 2010 in U.S. with an expected market retail price starting from $499, and in China and Europe in the later part of 2010.
