Opera 2009: Facebook on Top Among Mobile Social Network – Twitter Enjoyed 2800% Growth

A latest report from State of the Mobile Web of Opera, a browser maker focused on the increasing fashion of social networking. Facebook, for the first time stood first among most visited social network sites on mobile web. Twitter also grew very fast in 2009.

Report reveals that Facebook unique visitors grew more than 600% during last year beating VKontakte, the Russian social network which was previously on top among Opera Mini users.


Twitter was the most successful social network last year which grew more than 2800% in just one year. Social networking on the go has become a global trend and almost all networks experienced increase in usage in 2009 except Friendster.

11% increase in usage of Opera Mini is reported from November 2009 to December 2009 which resulted into 46.3 million users of Opera Mini in December 2009. The total pages visited through Opera Mini are calculated 20.7 billion in December 2009.
