Facebook has recently been coming up with different additions and is altering things. Facebook launched support for AOL’s chat client AIM earlier today even though it still is in beta phase.
Few hours ago, Facebook launched their support for almost all chat clients with the help of most common technology “Jabber (XMPP)”. Jabber is an open messaging protocol and is supported by most IM programs.
Jabber implementation was announced in May 2008 and the work restarted in November last year. Facebook finally completed the support of various Instant messaging Programs.
This new step would definitely increase chat usage of Facebook as anyone could easily access Facebook chat through loads of IM software like iChat, Meebo, Pidgin etc out there.
Facebook Connect has also been supported by this new feature for developers for various purposes.
no doubt FB is growing at a very fast pace. hope it ll keep growing like dis.
