Google Buzz: 5 Tips to Improve your Buzz Experience

Google Buzz has been out for over a week now and many improvements have been made whether it’s privacy issues or something else. Here are posting some tips to get most out of Buzz.

Google Buzz allows you to format your posts just like Gmail Chat.

Google dashboard allows you to view a detailed summary of who is following you, who you are following. You can also view your posts, discussions and likes. Buzz settings can also be accessed from same page.b2

Sent specific messages to your friends by adding “@” symbol before their name (It would automatically bring up their email). Messages sent this way will be sent directly to their email. You will be the only one to see their email as other people will see their username.b4

Keyboard shortcuts are a good way to navigate quickly through buzz. Turn on the keyboard shortcuts from settings and use short keys for quick navigations. Some keys are:

Scroll down = “j” or “n”

Scroll up = “k” or “p”

Comment = “r”

Like = “Shift + l”

If you don’t want any active discussion buzzes right into your email every time you could stop that by selecting “mute this post” option. Clicking the corner arrow in buzz post bring up the menu to mute the post.

Short key to mute a post (if keyboard shortcut is turned on) is “m”.b5
