Hitachi: TV Controlled by Brain Power

Now you can control your TV with your brain. Amazing isn’t it?

This revolutionary technology is called ‘Brain-Interface’. Hitachi is working on this technology to allow user to control their TV, even other electronics without clicking buttons.

How it works?

Brain-interface works by evaluating and analyzing changes in blood flow inside your brain. Another new technology called ‘Optical Topography’ helps to map changes in the blood flow by cleansing a small amount of infrared light within the brain. A user has to put on a head-wear, which will be linked to a mapping device through optical cables.

The tricky part is to unlock the frontal cortex in order to control objects via brain power and this can be done by a simple method of solving a math problem or even singing a song.

Hitachi has previously verified and demonstrated a version of this device, by allowing a small train to be controlled by thoughts. Complex and more complicated applications are under development. Once this technology is commercialized it could help in medical, automotive or leisure industries. Well it sounds really promising and especially entertaining.
