Will 4G Phones Contribue in 4G Adoption?

The first US Phone by Sprint Nextel is soon coming out to hit the US market which will work on a faster wireless network and a significant step in the besieged carrier’s effort to curtail subscriber defections, WSJ reports.

Sprint Nextel is planning to reveal the phone and it is called ‘Supersonic’, at an upcoming industry conference. This phone will be produced by HTC a Taiwanese smart-phone maker.

There is a problem however.

Over the past 3 years Sprint has shed almost 9 million customers and it is the third-largest wireless carrier in the country and somewhat losing its ground.

But there is one thing that Sprint has and the market giants like Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc. don’t have:

A fourth generation service or simply 4G service which will enable the users to upload and download data just like a web page much faster than the usual wireless systems.
