Twitter Files Application for “Bird in Flight” Design Trademark

Recently, Twitter has filed an application saying that its trademark drawing “Bird in Flight” now becomes a genuine trademark for the company as far as United States is concerned. Twitter has already filed applications for the words “Tweet” and “Twitter”.

According to Trademarkia, in the start of last week, Twitter has filed the U.S federal trademark registration. The description of the trademark given by the company is reasonably simple: “the mark consists of an outline of a bird in flight.” However, it is quite a tough task to find this sort of trademark sign.

The bird sign is used by many other third party developers and companies in their designs. This is a little bit of concern for those parties and companies. However, Twitter has said again and again that the step of filing an application for trademark is just for protection and not to attack others under any conditions.

In spite of repeated statements from twitter for not attacking others for using their bird sign, it is suggested not to use it in too many obvious ways.
