The plan for Promoted Accounts was remain in debate for quite a long time. It was first leaked out two months before, but then it was only in conceptual stages. But now the company has decided to move forward with that initiative. It is not tough to understand why company has decided to monetize on a brand’s desire to have more influence, for with Promoted tweets over $100,000, it is relatively easy to achieve this task.

The focus of Promoted Accounts is pretty much same like that of Promoted Tweets, that is, to target the users who are more receptive to following any specific brands. For instance, if you are a member of PETA, twitter will not suggest you the company like Tyson Food to follow.
