LG Optimus Smartphone Review

The LG Optimus T runs with latest version of Android operating system – Android 2.2 and includes Wi-Fi hotspot support, GPS, Bluetooth, 3.2 megapixel camera, 3G and simple yet intuitive touch-screen interface. Also, the phone comes for an affordable price of 29.99 dollars with 2 year contract from T-Mobile. It has lower display resolution and slower processor when compared to other smart phones in the market which have high-end configuration. The camera does not support HD video recording and lacks an LED flash. The Web browser in this phone does not support Flash 10.1 though Android 2.2 standard has support for it. LG Optimus can be considered as good entry-level smart phone with basic features at a very affordable price.

At present there are lots of Android smart phones available in market under budget range like Samsung Intercept, Motorola Charm etc. LG has become the topper by providing LG Optimus which is the cheapest Android phone till date which comes with a price tag of 29.99 dollars for two-year contract with T-Mobile. The phone has dimensions of 4.47×2.32×0.52 inches and has simple touch-screen. It has a curved back with soft-touch material coating and rounded corners.  The overall weight is just 4.5 ounces and it feels very comfortable when held in hands. It comes in 2 colors including titanium gray and burgundy.

The touch screen display measures 3.2 inches diagonally and has support for 262,000 colors with native resolution of 320×480 pixels which not as high as other Android smart phones such as MyTouch 3G or Droid Incredible. The graphics is acceptable with crispy text and vibrant colors. The screen brightness and timeout timer can be adjusted and you can also set animations during closing and opening of applications. It has a very responsive capacitive touch screen with pinch-to-zoom and multi-touch support. There is also internal accelerometer to switch displays from landscape to portrait and vice versa based on how the phone is held. Also, it has proximity sensor which locks the screen automatically when you take the phone near your ears for attending a call.

The user interface of Android 2.2 is great with 5 home screens which can be customized easily with 3 shortcuts at bottom for inbox, main menu and phone dialer. The phone has 3.5mm headphone jack and volume rocker on right spine while power/screen lock key remain on top while at bottom you can find the micro USB port for charging. The 3.2 megapixel camera lens lies on back which lacks an LED flash and does not produce high quality pictures. In order to access memory card slot you must open the battery cover. The phone has 18.75 days standby time and 11 hours talk time, which is very decent for smart phone. Overall, if you are looking for an affordable smart phone with all basic features, then LG Optimus T is the best choice for you.
