Replacing the LCD of a Nikon Coolpix 7600

There are many factors that cause LCD malfunction on the Nikon Coolpix 7600 camera. It could be due to excessive exposure to moisture, or by accidentally spilling something over it. The screen could also be cracked if the camera falls down by mistake. You can purchase your new LCD and replace the damaged one all by yourself. It would also save your time and money without having to seek expensive technicians.

You will need a small-sized Phillips-head screwdriver, flat-head screwdriver and a plastic spudger. Firstly, power down your camera, and open its battery door positioned at its bottom side. Remove the battery from the compartment. Unscrew the Phillips-head screw which fastens the Nikon Coolpix camera’s memory card door, beside the battery compartment. Slide the memory out carefully, from its compartment.

Use the flathead screwdriver to scrupulously take off the panel that is positioned on the camera’s left-hand side. Utmost care is required in this step so that you don’t damage the casing below the plastic case. Then take out the three Phillips-head screws that are exposed near the side plastic cover. Make use of a thin piece of strong plastic, such as a credit card or a guitar pick, to pry its rear case along with the LCD cover from your camera’s back side. Begin from a corner of its rear casing and go around the whole casing of your Nikon Coolpix, till the LCD cover just pops off. Set apart the covering carefully.

Slightly lift out the LCD panel from the compartment. With a plastic spudger, disconnect its LCD ribbon-like cable from your camera’s circuit board which is located behind its LCD screen. After removing your old LCD screen set it aside.

Follow the above steps in the reverse order to install your new LCD screen. Then, re-assemble your Nikon coolpix 7600 camera.
