Call of Duty: Black Ops Reaches $1 Billion in Sales

Game maker, Activision said in a statement that their popular video game, Call of Duty: Black Ops has crossed that one-billion-dollar mark in worldwide sales of the very popular interactive game.

According to Activision the game reaped more than $650 million in worldwide sales within the first five days after it went on sale in November, and has since gone on to earn more than $1 Billion, proving the popularity the Call of Duty series has gained over the past few years.

According to Bobby Kotick, Chief Executive of Activision, only Call of Duty and Avatar was the only games to ever reach the $1 Billion revenue milestone this fast.

It was also mentioned that more than 600 million hours have been logged playing Call of Duty: Black Ops since the November 9 launch by online players of the game.

According to statistics from Microsoft, the average player logs on more than once a day and plays the game for longer than 1 hour at a time.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is the seventh title in a franchise than has won a devoted following since the first version of the game was released in 2003.
