Infineon, Nokia Cooperate on Next-Gen Mobile

Infineon, the chipmaker, announced collaboration, thus moving a step forward. It announced that the company is going to make chips for next generation mobile phones and hence it moved closer in a process of delivering chips for the Nokia’s high-end mobile devices.

Infineon is already working with the largest manufacturer of cellular phones in the world, the Nokia, where it supplies the chips for its phones. Now this relationship has extended and the collaboration of the companies aims in designing the present and future technology of modem such that it works with the transceiver chips of Infineon.

The firm anticipates that a product will be created by the world’s best companies for fourth generations services (4G) LTE (Long-term technology) technology, which will be a next move in the mobile networking services thus making the high-speed internet wireless connections possible. These networks will be probably expected by the year 2011.

While viewing the share information, the shares of Infineon went flat where as the shares of Nokia went up to 0.5 %, on 112 GMT. The DJ STOX index of European technology went up to 0.2 %. The mobile business did not yet established a standard or any specific criteria for the networks of 4G, where few developers and operators are supporting the WiMax technology of the Sprint Nextel Company while few other developers are encouraging the system of Long-Term Technology (LTE).  Previously there was a statement made by the Nortel Networks Company that the company sees this LTE technology as the most upgraded path or a suitable one for more than 80 % of cellular phone providers that exist in the world now.

This collaboration of Infineon with Nokia may give out best results in designing the chips which can work with those high-end mobile phones thus creating a good collaboration. Most probably this LTE technology will be the most suited technology for the providers of mobile phone especially for those fourth generation mobile phones. Hopefully these forth-generation phones will be expected in the year of 2011and many people are waiting for this.

This collaboration ensures the interworking and compatibility of both the companies working together. One of the chief officers of Infineon said that the company is very happy in extending its cooperation working with Nokia, thus both the companies benefit well with this collaboration and also strives amalgamated to provide best services to the users.
