No Holiday Delivery Guarantee for 3G Sony E-Reader

The pre-orders are being accepted by Sony for the 3G wireless e-reader Daily edition from this Wednesday though the users have to hang on to get the mobile device into hands until January. The price of the Daily Edition e-reader is 399 USD and the pre-orders can be lodged through the website known as sonystyle.com now. A post in the blog says that the shipping of the e-reader will hopefully start between 18th December 2010 and 8th January of next year though the date of the actual delivery of the e-reader is not guaranteed yet, even by the company.

A free wireless capacity that is in-built is included by Daily Edition through the 3G cellular broadband network of AT&T. the e-reader will feature a touchscreen of seven inches with the display featuring a ratio of high contrast with the gray scale levels upto 16. It also enables the user to read the content in which ever way feasible to the user like either the landscape or the portrait orientation. There is so much of on board memory available in the e-reader which has a capacity to store more than 1000 standard electronic books which also has an expandable memory facilities like slots for SD card and Memory Duo/ Stick, thus extra space can be achieved to store more and more books.

This device was unveiled by Sony in an event during August at the Public Library of Newyork so as to display the library finder application of Daily Edition. This app was designed in collaboration with a firm called overdrive.com. This Daily edition app allows the users of it to locate any library present locally online and also content of e-books can be downloaded for free of cost by using the library cards. The content gets expired when the lending time is completed.

The content of magazines and newspapers will also be available in this device.  The users can get the daily editions too with this app. The names of the publications that Sony is going to upload will be unveiled soon by the company, most probably by next month or so, as per a report from the Company this Wednesday.

This device is the most waited one especially to those enthusiastic e-book readers and this device can be used by the students so that the books of various subjects can be downloaded at a lesser price than those traditional textbooks.
