RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G is an excellent phone with slim design, external media keys and very responsive optical track pad which makes it comfortable to navigate the phone’s menus. It has stereo Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS support and has in-built 2 megapixel camera in its rear side. The photo quality is not very impressive and the performance is more or less or identical to its predecessor. But overall it is an affordable smart phone with decent feature set.

The RIM Blackberry Curve 3G has an enhanced 624 MHz processor for good performance and internal memory of 256MB. But there have not been any changes in the design part when compared to Curve 8350, the earlier version as most of features are exactly same. The phone is available for $79.99 along with 2 year service agreement and is decent entry-level smart phone.

The phone’s dimensions are 4.3×2.4×0.6 inches and it has an approximate weight of 3.6 ounces. It has a sharp and crisp display measuring 2.4 inches diagonally and has media keys at top with QWERTY keyboard and an optical track pad. The important design tweak which looks impressive is that optical track pad is raised and well-rounded than earlier version and is very responsive. Also, the backside of the phone has rubber grip so that it is comfortable to hold in hands and will not slide when you place it on a smooth surface. Apart from the buttons and controls are same as its predecessor. It comes along with manual, USB cable, AC Adapter plug, mini CD and a wired CD.

The phone runs on Blackberry OS 5, but it could be upgraded by OS 6 if you wish. When you upgrade to the latest version you can enjoy certain additional features like universal search, an enhanced home screen, revamped web browser and faster access to messaging services. It includes all basic features such as conference calling, voice dialing, speakerphone, multimedia and text messaging, speed dialing, e-mail, IM and web surfing. You can store as many contacts as much you like which is limited only by amount of memory. You can access all Instant messenger services including yahoo chat, MSN Messanger, Gtalk, AIM etc and also like it with any POP3 or IMAP mail accounts. Overall, the Blackberry Curve 3G 9300 is a good entry-level smart phone with good design and basic features for an affordable price.
