Archos 70 Internet Tablet Launched

Archos recently announced the launch of their first Android tablet at an affordable price of $350.

The Archos 70 Internet tablet is a 7-inch device, with 8GB of flash memory, a 250GB hard-drive and an 800×480 capacitive multitouch screen.

Although the device is no revolution in the tablet market, the company has taken a step in the right direction with their new innovation, offering consumers a more reasonable priced product, which may indicate the start of more cost-effective tablets to hit the shelves.

The Archos 70 will run on Android 2.2 and is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortez A8 processor. Graphics acceleration is obtained through an OpenGL ES 2.0 card.

The device measures in at 0.43 inches thick and weighs in at 11 oz.

The tablet consists of a front-facing VGA camera.

It also boasts with 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection.
