Dolphin Browser Mini Review

Dolphin is known for creating great browsers, and its latest, the Browser Mini for Android is no exception. The browser, which is currently in Beta comes billed as a lightweight browser, but at times it feels like a full-featured browser when compared to various competitors.

The Browser

The Dolphin Browser Mini for Android is blazing fast. We would almost say that its faster than its sister browser, the Dolphin Browser HD.

The browser is easy to use and will allow the novice user to access the browser, scope out the required information in a dash and return to what they were busy with.

Some highlights include:

  • High speed responses
  • Speed dial home page
  • Innovative menu design
  • Infinite tab browsing
  • Intelligent back and forward button

Press and hold the address bar, and the user will get a pop-up filled with great useful options, which include Add Bookmark, Copy URL, Select Text, Share and Save Page. Users can also add the URL to Dolphin’s Speed Dial, a special easy-access button page of favorites, separate from your bookmarks.

Tapping the icon looking like a finger touching the screen will bring up a gesture pane. Draw a backward or forward-facing arrow, and it recognizes whether the user wants to go back or forward in the browser window. The up arrow will take the user to the top of the page, while the down arrow will go to the bottom of the page.

The browser also consists of more useful services, such a screenshots, where users can snap a screenshot of a website, change the view from mobile to desktop, lock the screen from rotating and much more. These useful functions can be accessed from the ‘Settings’ links.

The main features of the browser include the following:

  • Gesture
  • Multi-tab browsing
  • Multi-touch pinch zoom
  • Tool box
  • RSS detection
  • Bookmarks Sync
  • Bookmarks / History / Most Visited
  • Flash support for Froyo

The Dolphin Browser Mini impressed us. It offers users everything they would expect a mobile browser to do, and more!

Another advantage is the fact that the browser is still in Beta format. Users can easily report any bugs they may experience.
