Goldman Sachs, Digital Sky Technologies Invest in Facebook

According to a report in the New York Times, information are doing the rounds that Facebook has raised $500 million from Goldman Sachs and Russian Internet investment group, Digital Sky Technologies in a deal now valuing Facebook at more than $50 Billion.

According to the report, Goldman Sachs has invested $450 million and Digital Sky Technologies, who already invested more than half a billion dollars in Facebook, provided an additional $50 million.

Goldman Sachs is planning to create a special purpose vehicle to allow its high-net worth clients to invest in Facebook. According to the report, it has the right to sell a part of its stake, of up to $75 million, to Digital Sky Technologies.

Currently, none of the companies could be reached for comments on the information leaked to the newspaper.
