Mattel & THQ Signs New Game Licensing Deal

Mattel is hoping to take Barbie, Hot Wheels and Fisher-Price to new heights under a deal with publisher, THQ Inc. that includes developing video games based on these popular brands.

The two companies announced today that a multi-year agreement will also allow them to expand the video game capabilities of product lines including Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Masters of the Universe and Polly Pocket.

The terms of the agreement has not been disclosed by the companies.

The companies already commenced the development of several video games, with the first expected to be released for the 2011 holiday season. The titles first being developed has not been made public.
