New Lexar Flash Drives Announced

Lexar announced the launch of its new Echo MX and the ZA backup drives at the CES 2011 in Las Vegas. The new drives are designed to back up files when users are on the go. The drives also support 128-bit AES encryption, which will make them ideal for netbook and notebook users.

The Echo MX comes in 8, 16, 32, 64 and 128GB sizes and offers read speeds between 28MBps and 32MBps. The device also offer write speeds between 10MBps and 17MBps. The Echo MX also offer an always-on capacity meter that indicates free space, even when the drive is not plugged into the computer. The MX is the size of a normal flash drive.

The Echo ZX offers performance speed of up to 28MBps read speeds and between 10MBps and 15MBps write speeds. The drive is also very small, fitting just over the USB port.

Both devices offers automatic backup of files without the need of constantly having to update. The drives are compatible with both PCs and the MAC.

No information has been revealed about pricing.
