How to Find If a Photo is Real or Fake?

While surfing Internet, we come across numerous number of photographs of which we are not sure off whether the photographs are real or fake. Following are given the steps to solve this problem.

Before proceeding, it is worth mentioning that this method is only for personal use, you cannot make any claims based on this method. Follow the steps given below that will enable you to find if the photograph is real or fake.

  1. Log on to http://errorlevelanalysis.com/
  2. There, give the URL of the photograph of which you want to check whether it’s real or not.
  3. After giving the URL, hit the ‘Process’.

After Analysis

Your results will be displayed on your screen instantly. The process is called ‘Error Level Analysis’ or ELA test. Resaving of the image at known quality is done by this test as re-saving an image again and again decrease the original quality of an image. In case the image is not modified or altered, this test will show all parts of image will give you same color patterns, however, if the image has been changed, you will see some changed color patterns.
