Apple’s New “Audio Device” having Production Issues

Apple’s new ‘Audio Device’ that has entered into a massive production last month is now having some mysterious production issues. This report has been confirmed by Cirrus Logic Inc., a part supplier for Apple. The company has not disclosed full details about the problem, nor even gave us any hint of what sort of device they are talking about. So, we are unsure at this stage about whether the problem is with any of the Apple device or not.

Cirrus Logic Inc. is a company behind providing analog chips to Apple, especially in the iPod and iPad. The device of which the company is talking about can be anything in the Apple forthcoming lineup such as iPod, batch of iPad 2 or it can also be the forthcoming white iPhone 4 which has been delayed a number of times in last 10 months after it was officially announced. Majority of the people associating this matter with the delayed release of iPhone 5, no body knows!

But Cirrus late Thursday said it had determined an earlier test for a particular function of a new audio product–which analysts assume is for Apple–was insufficient to guarantee that all products met a certain standard. After a more rigorous test was developed, Cirrus found fewer working chips than previously expected, with that yield loss rising as volumes increased.

This issue certainly has raised many questions for the Cirrus Logic Inc., especially when one is operating under highly competitive and harsh market conditions. It can put a big question mark on its products in the future for the fact that Apple makes up for half of Cirrus revenue, hence Cirrus will in no way appreciate the idea of deterring its exclusive clients.
