Download Internet Explorer 9 for Windows

The full and final version of Internet Explorer 9 has been released by the Microsoft which is available on Microsoft’s official website for download. Unlike previous versions of Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer 9 is designed for Wind0ws 7 and Windows Vista. Windows XP doesn’t support Internet Explorer 9 despite the fact that Windows XP still shares 55% of overall market.

This new version may be an attempt from Microsoft to attract the users of Firefox and Google Chrome to Internet Explorer as this new version has certain enhanced features which were not present in the older version of Internet Explorer.

The most prominent change that has been made in this new version is in the form of sleek interface. Toolbars are gone and the search box is positioned into the address bar similar to Google Chrome. The only difference between the two (IE & Chrome) is in IE one can switch the search engine while typing the query while in case of Chrome, one has to do it by visiting ‘Option’ page.

Unlike other browsers, this new version of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer deters the use of add-ons no matter if the said add-on is developed by Microsoft itself. Like Google Chrome, the new tabs of Internet Explorer 9 show the visual list of recently visited websites but with a slight difference, i.e. certain favicons and colored bars are used to display the websites rather than thumbnails as in Google Chrome.

Internet Explorer 9 also features a built-in Download Manager. This Download Manager prompts you when you download from an unknown website or doubtful file. Internet Explorer 9 also supports some modern web standards such as CSS3 and HTML5.

All in all, Internet Explorer 9 is fast, sleek and smooth browser that works simply great on Windows 7 and Windows Vista. You can download it from Microsoft’s official website, windows.microsoft.com/ie9.
