Seagate Unveils ‘World’s Slimmest’ External HDD

Seagate (NASDAQ: STX) revealed its new GoFlex Slim portable external hard drive disk. It is a slender, graceful, 9 mm, 2.5 inch external drive designed to meet the most recent trends of portable, slim, elegant laptops, and notebooks. This drive was previously disclosed at the 2011 International Consumer Electronic Show held in January. Now this slim drive is now available for sale.

Seagate claims that it is the world’s slimmest portable external hard drive. Certainly, this pencil thick external hard drive has already made its impact in the IT industry for being so slim and fast as well. There is a thought that it is so designed to target the professional women, but it is just a speculation. We have to wait to see what this 9-mm thick drive bring to the IT world.

This pencil thick 7200RMP drive is available in just one specification yet. Seagate has set the price for 320GB drive at $100.
