Verizon Puts Location Tracking Warning Labels on All Phones

After the mess Apple and Android created in the media in the last couple of weeks, Verizon is now trying to secure them from lawsuits by putting on Warning label on their phones intimating users that their devices have to ability to track geographic locations.

This is not the first and last time this tracking drama is happening. In fact, you might remember the lawsuit in last December which was filed amidst privacy concerns regarding App tracking. These complaints forced New York Times to write an article about app tracking, and that brought the attention of State Representative Ed Markey to the matter.

Markey wrote a letter to all carriers and expressed his concerns over the issue, and this Verizon Warning Label is the outcome of that dialogue. For the record, Apple has denied that they don’t track anyone.
