Apple Planning to Launch iPhone 5 in September, Bloomberg Reports

We have been hearing news about Apple launching the next iPhone 4S/5 in September but no final words from Apple. According to the latest news, Bloomberg reports that Apple will be releasing the next iPhone in this fall which will be well equipped with a stronger chip for processing data, improve camera and camera features.

We reported earlier that the iPhone 5 will have an A5 processor which is used in iPad 2 launched earlier this year. Other prominent feature would be an 8 megapixel camera.

Did you know iPhone is the top seller and accounted half the revenue in the last quarter? Yes, it is. And with a better processor and camera, we can expect a boast in the sales.

The iPhone is Apple’s top seller, accounting for half of revenue last quarter. A faster chip will enable speedier data downloads and help the device vie with handsets being introduced by rivals such as Samsung Electronics Co. that are powered by Google Inc. (GOOG)’s Android software. The iPhone’s gains versus the BlackBerry partly explain why Research In Motion Ltd. (RIM) last week forecast its first-ever quarterly sales decline.

The new iPhone will run the iOS 5 which was released earlier this month. iOS 5 is currently available for download to developers only and will be released at future date. Over 200 new and improved features are introduced in the iOS 5 including improved messaging, photo sharing, etc.

It is also rumored that Apple might be working a cheaper version of iPhone for developing countries which will have the similar chips and displays as in today’s iPhone 4.

Apple is also working to finish a cheaper version of the iPhone aimed at attracting customers in developing countries, the people said. This device would use chips and displays of similar quality to today’s iPhone 4, the people said. Apple’s work on a smaller, lower-priced version of the device was discussed by people familiar with the matter in February.
