iOS 5 Produces More Evidence for 2048×1536 iPad Retina Display

There have been rumors that the next iPad will have ‘Retina Display’. According to the latest news, the future iPad or iPad 3 will support Ratina display with 2048×1536 resolution or you can say double of the existing iPad’s resolution (768 x 1024).

Previously, a few images were leaked that displayed bigger app icons than needed for 768 x 1024 screen of the existing iPad. It was expected that Apple will use the same doubled pixel strategy it used in iPhone 4 to new iPad.

The latest reports firms the believes as a user of Techunwrapped observed 2048 x 1536 images while going through the new Twitter framework in iOS 5 which is double the size required in the existing iPad.

As I was going through the iOS SDK I came across some images in the new Twitter .framework. The resolution appears to be 1,536 x 2,048.

Apparently the Twitter.framework is the only framework I found to have these enormous images.

They also suggest that as the images were found in the Twitter section of iOS SDK, it is possible that the future iPad will be released in the same timeframe as of iOS 5.
