iPad Tops 100,000 App Mark

According to MacStories, iPad has reached over 100,000 apps in the Apple’s App Store. These 100,000 apps are iPad related and not iPhone or iPod touch apps which the iPad can run. As we reported earlier, there are over 420,000 apps in AppStore.

Yet Apple and third-party developers have set a new record: in 453 days since the original iPad came out on April 3, 2010, the App Store has more than 100,000 iPad-exclusive apps available.

We all know that iPad success is backed up with the growth of iPhone and iPod touch. Many developers started developing and building  apps for iPhone and iPod touch when SDK was released back in 2008. According to latest reports, AppStore is becoming the largest apps download portal with over 14 billion downloads since its launch.

With the current growth rate of iPad apps, we can expect it to cross 200,000 mark soon. With Apple pushing automatic downloads, wireless sync, and iCloud, it is clear that Apple is trying to ensure an easy process of downloading, syncing and using apps.
