Official Facebook iPad App Going to be Released Soon

Finally, Facebook is almost ready to release official iPad application, the New York Times stated. According to the people attended the briefing, the app will be free and will be released in coming weeks. The design and development process of this app has been going on for almost a year and is now on final stages.

People briefed on Facebook’s plans say that in coming weeks the company plans to introduce a free iPad application that has been carefully designed and optimized for the tablet. The app has been in production at Facebook for almost a year, going through several design iterations, and is now in the final stages of testing, according to these people, who declined to be named because they were discussing confidential product plans.

Sources say that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg showed demo of the app which is carefully designed for the tablet interface. Along with photos and videos, it also has revamped Chat and Groups versions.

One of the persons who was there said:

“The photo and video experience is amazing, offering full resolution and full-screen images,”

It is also reported that Apple is planning to promote Facebook iPad app by featuring it prominently in the AppStore. Lets hope they keep their words.
