Apple released iOS 4 last year to its iPhone 4/3GS/3G customers and according to a recent study, it seems that a major portion of the iOS devices users keep their devices up-to-date with the latest iOS updates. 95.59% of Apple iOS distribution by version are on iOS 4.
A minor portion is still on the iOS 3 and we assume that these are the original iPhone owners as first generation iPhone users are not able to install iOS 4 on their devices.
Not surprisingly, there are 0.17% people still using iOS 2 who use their iPhones just to make calls or send texts. Above graph is released by advertising bureau Apprupt. Previous statistics show that even after only six months, iOS 4 was already running on 90 percent of devices.
iPhone user in Germany place value on a brand-new operating system on their devices. Just one year after the launch of iOS 4 already more 95% of all iPhone users in apprupt’s premium network have equipped their devices with the current iOS version.
Only 4% still use the forerunner iOS 3 while no more than 0,17% use iOS 2.
