Samsung’s Larger Tablet Takes on iPad Locally

Samsung has released its new 10.1 and 8.9 tab in Korea to compete against likes of iPad. Although the new tablet offers better camera and resolution features to the end users it is carrying the fiasco of Samsung’s Galaxy 7 inch tablet. One of the other major aspects viz. intriguing about the tablet is that it’s priced similar to Apple iPad. The base 16 GB model is for $499, 32 GB for $599 and 64 GB for $699. The robust connectivity options such as Wi-Fi and 3G are provided in all the tablet variants. The tablet is only available in the black color at the moment.

It will be interesting to note as to how consumers will react to the release of tablet. Although the previous version failed to make an impact the tablet looks a good copy of its overall design. Both the 10.1 version and 8.9 versions are lighter than iPad and thickness wise are only 8.6 mm against iPad’s 8.8 mm. The 10.1 tablet is taller than iPad while the 8.9 inches variant slightly smaller than iPad.

Samsung has been a good copier of Apple and perhaps in the firing line too. Recently, ITC quashed HTC for copying Apple’s patents illegally. The law suits filed against Samsung by Apple and who knows Samsung might soon face the heat. As of this moment Samsung’s Galaxy tab looks imposing than iPad.
