Apple has found a serious competitor in Android as it’s fast catching up in terms of the overall apps and offers robust set of functions too. The mobile OS space is becoming more competitive and the users are being offered valued set of services by either of the operating systems. Android is leading the mobile OS market share in US with close to 40% users while Apple iOS is fast catching with a share of about 35%. Android enabled devices and Android Market app store are competitive options when compared with Apple. The users in Asia and Africa are driving demand for Android to newer heights and it is expected that in span of 5 years, Android will emerge as the clear winner.
Some Apple insiders question the hypothesis of Android’s capabilities to drive the market. It is Apple who has launched innovative and scalable end user solutions such as iCloud for auto synchronization of data along with iMessage for sending free text messages to the end users. The both will be bundled as part of iOS 5 and users can get to expect a lot more from Apple in the upcoming months. The battle amongst the two is set to intensify with no clear winner as of now.
