Can Android Replace iOS in Next 5 Years

The battle for tech market supremacy is hotting up and it seems that it will be either Android or Apple who will rule the mobile or tablet segment in next 5 years or so. Both the operating systems are rolling out best breed end user capabilities to downplay each other. For instance, the lined up release of iOS 5 will offer iCloud to users for auto synchronizing their data on iOS devices along with iMessage feature for sending free SMS messages. To top over it the iOS 5 will also have Twitter integration and notification overhauling center.

At the same juncture Android is also boosting up its capabilities by having released Android 3.0 – Honeycomb OS and has lined up the release of Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The new platform will offer high degree of usability options along with battery optimization and user interface overhauling. Android is picking up the momentum and buzz created by Apple iOS. And has plans of beating Apple by providing users free apps over Android market as compared to pricey bets on Apple’s app store. If Android builds upon the momentum then it might actually beat Apple and become the number#1 mobile and tablet OS.
