Nintendo Abruptly Slashes Price of 3DS Game Machine to $170

The gaming gadget manufacturer, Nintendo has slashed the price of 3DS game machine to mere $170. Along with Samsung, Sony and RIM the once gaming giant is reeling under sluggish sales numbers. The tech ecosystem has changed over the years at rapid pace. An increasing number of users prefer investing in smart phones than in dedicated gaming gadget. Some of the makers in the segment such as Sony Ericsson are looking to drive an all together new wave by having launched Xperia Play fusion phone. The users can cherish main stream gaming or leverage from the phone experience on the go.

The lack of innovation on the part of Nintendo in launching cutting edge gadgets has forced them and few others in registering poor sales numbers. There is one too many similar products in gaming gadget market with little or none differentiation at all. As a result, the market’s dynamics have become competitive and even the leaders will find it difficult to deal with the competition.

Just in case you are a gaming gadget fan who can wait for a bit longer then Christmas and Thanksgiving deals might offer even better value for money. The price cuts from these makers are expected to be the order of the day.
