Nokia Now Facing Android Onslaught

After facing run for its money from Apple and other niche competitors it’s now Android who is bothering Nokia. The lack of innovation from Nokia’s end in manufacturing cutting edge equipments is considered as the main reason. Android’s apps are expected to even out number than the ones of the App Store in few months time and it will eventually become the prime App Store amongst the end users. Nokia is reeling under the pressure from industry giants and fired around 20,000 employees to curb down costs and sustain those at manageable levels. The number of Android device launches is getting frequent and almost every smart phone equipment manufacturer has an Android powered phone.

The candy bar shaped smart phones are picking up in popularity amongst the business users, students and tech geeks. Nokia’s equipments lack the sheen and are often complement their previous releases. As a result, the customers do not find any value in their overall proposition. Nokia is doing well in the button phone segment but today it stands nowhere in the smart phone segment. The top spots are occupied by Apple and Android platform enabled phones.

Nokia’s bottom-line numbers have taken a hit too and the business outlook is under pressure too. If they fail to launch a cutting edge phone in the market at a rapid pace then it will be tough for it to sustain longer.
