Verizon’s 2.3 Million iPhone Sales Lag Behind AT&T

Verizon’s sales team is a worried lot with its sales numbers plunging far behind than that of AT&T. The telecom service provider has managed to sell 2.3 million iPhone equipments in US and is under reeling pressure from all nooks of the management. AT&T was the first service provider to offer services to the users in US and Verizon’s entry in the space was bit late marked by certain regulations. Another reason that has attributed to sluggish sales numbers of Verizon is considered to be the sluggish sales numbers of iPhone 4. The equipment is considered as an expensive bet in non-US territories and as a result the sales numbers aren’t too encouraging as opposed to the last two quarters.

In order to curb down the negative impact from slow iPhone 4 sales Verizon will be looking to even out with increasing iPad sales. Verizon and AT&T are the designated iPad 2 – 3G cellular service providers in US from day one. Apple has registered profit of 124% YoY and although iPhone 4’s sales have been sluggish the iPad sales numbers have boosted the bottom-line numbers.

The tech analysts are anticipating that Verizon might launch special plans to woo customers during Thanksgiving too boost the short term sales numbers across the US territories.
